Structural Welding Lead

Structural Welding Lead for industrial project in Austin. Lead structural welding activities and coordinate with steel erection crews. Perform production welding while directing work of other welders. Verify fit-up quality and weld preparation before starting. Ensure weld sequences are followed to minimize distortion. Review drawings for weld requirements and special instructions. Coordinate inspection hold points with QC personnel. Track welding progress and report completion status daily. Identify and communicate issues that may impact schedule or quality. Assist foreman with planning and material coordination. Mentor less experienced welders and promote quality workmanship. Must have lead experience on structural steel projects. Schedule is 6 days per week with 10 hour shifts. Lead rates with full per diem provided.

• Minimum 5 years structural welding experience with lead responsibilities. Proven ability to produce quality welds while directing others. Strong drawing reading and weld symbol interpretation skills. Experience coordinating with ironworkers and QC personnel. Knowledge of weld sequences to control distortion. Ability to work at elevation and in various weather conditions. Must pass drug screen and background check. OSHA 30 certification required. Must have own welding tools and reliable transportation.
