Structural Welder

Structural Welder for steel erection in Raleigh. Perform structural welding on industrial steel erection projects. Weld structural steel using FCAW and SMAW processes per AWS D1.1 requirements. Produce quality fillet and groove welds in all positions. Read structural drawings and weld symbols accurately. Tack and weld connections maintaining proper sequence to control distortion. Work at elevation on steel structures with fall protection. Install temporary bracing and verify member alignment. Coordinate with ironworkers for proper fit-up and access. Follow hot work permits and maintain fire watch when required. Keep work area clean and protect adjacent surfaces from damage. Must pass structural weld test and work comfortably at heights. Schedule is 5 days per week with 10 hour shifts. Competitive rates with per diem provided.

• Minimum 3 years structural welding experience in construction required. Must pass structural weld test per AWS D1.1 requirements. Experience with FCAW and SMAW processes on structural steel. Ability to read structural drawings and weld symbols. Comfortable working at elevation with proper fall protection. Knowledge of hot work permits and fire watch requirements. Must pass drug screen and background check. OSHA 10 certification required. Must have own welding tools and PPE. Reliable transportation to job site required.
