Job Description
Controls Technician needed in Fort Wayne. Support industrial control system installation and commissioning. Terminate field wiring in PLC and DCS marshalling cabinets. Perform point to point checks and verify IO assignments. Troubleshoot control wiring and signal issues methodically. Assist with PLC programming changes under engineer direction. Configure VFDs, soft starters, and motor protection devices. Support functional testing of control sequences and interlocks. Verify alarm and shutdown functions operate correctly. Document test results and maintain accurate redline drawings. Work safely around energized control panels with proper PPE. Must have controls experience with PLC and DCS systems. Schedule is 5 days per week with 10 hour shifts. Per diem provided.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years controls technician experience required. Experience with PLC and DCS systems in industrial environments. Knowledge of control wiring, terminations, and point to point testing. Ability to troubleshoot control circuits and signal issues. Experience with VFDs, soft starters, and motor control devices. Basic understanding of control logic and programming. Must pass drug screen and background check. OSHA 10 certification required. NFPA 70E training required. Own tools and reliable transportation required.
